Frequently Asked Questions

We offer five adventure and rental options to explore Lake City. The Full Day Adventure runs 7.5–9 hours, starting at $300, and seats 1–6 passengers, while Multi-Day Rentals span 1–8 days from $300 per day for up to 6 riders. The Half Day Rental offers 4–6 hours starting at $280 for up to 6 passengers, and the full-day Jeep Rental starts at $245 for 1–5 passengers. For winter trips, our Guided Snowmobile Tours run for 2 hours and 30 minutes, starting at $250. All vehicle rentals are self-guided and require drivers to be 21 or older, whereas our snowmobile tours are strictly guided.

Every rental includes use of the vehicle, helmets — which are provided and required for all riders — appropriate vehicle-specific safety goggles and gear, and navigation equipment.

All UTV and Jeep Adventures are self-guided meanwhile our Snowmobile Experiences are strictly guided. We provide a suggested route, trail map, and a list of sites and attractions so you can explore Lake City's trails at your own pace.

Our rentals are off-road adventures. You'll ride on unpaved roads and trails covering a variety of natural terrain — sand, gravel, dirt, grass, mud, rocks, and more.

Polaris UTV rentals seat 1 to 6 passengers. Jeep Wrangler rentals seat 1 to 5 passengers. Snowmobile rentals seat 1 to 2 passengers. Helmets and safety gear are included for all riders.

Drivers must be 21 years of age or older. Passengers of all ages are welcome — families with kids, grandparents, and first-timers all ride together on the same adventure.

The Alpine Loop is a seasonal route, typically open from late spring through fall, weather and snowpack permitting. Engineer Pass — the highest point on the route at 12,800 feet — is usually the last section to clear in early summer and the first to close when snow returns in the fall. Conditions can shift quickly at elevation, so for the most current status, give us a call at (970) 944-2311 — we're out on the trail and know what today looks like before it's posted anywhere online.

Lake City sits at 8,671 feet above sea level in the San Juan Mountains. The Alpine Loop climbs from there, topping out at 12,800 feet at Engineer Pass — the highest point on the route.
